CITY CENTRE COMMUNITY INFORMATION
Mississauga’s City Centre has seen expansive growth in the last 20 years. In the 1980s there was only Sqaure One, a handful of office buldings and the condos along Hurontario Rd. The rest of the area was undeveloped fields. In 1987, the Civic Centre was built, followed by condos in the 90s. In the past 20 years, many more buildings, amenities have been built in the area giving it a downtown feel.
Today, Mississauga’s City Centre is home to many modern, cutting edge designed condominium buildings. Developments, such as the world-renowned Absolute Marilyn Munro towers, are known internationally for cutting edge design. Most of the real estate in the city centre is condominium builds; however, there are family homes located in pockets south of Burnhamthorpe and East of Hurontario. Located in the heart of the city, residents benefit from convenient access to the 403 and QEW, as well as public transportation and GO train/bus services.
